Last weekend, the Church Without Walls in Houston, TX, hosted Pastor Edrei Rodriguez of Mercy without Borders, one of FSW’s newest partners working with Migrants in Reynosa.

Every fifth Sunday, the church celebrates mission Sundays. Edrei shared with the church a testimony of his work with Haitian migrants. After building relationships with the Haitian migrant community and sharing donations with them, they said, “Pastor, now we want a place to worship and pray in our language.” Edrei told the church, “I received 50 chairs and a small sound system a few days before. So, I looked up worship videos and music on Spotify and YouTube and started singing with them. Eventually, they would organize and lead worship, and I would preach.”

He also shared a testimony of a Haitian friend; he said, “I had a prejudice against white people because they always mistreated me in my time in Chile, but you made me feel like family. I never ate at the same table with a white person. But you allowed me to be just like you, and that changed my way of seeing white people.”

He went on to explain to the church, “We need the kingdom of God to come to this country through them. I want them to experience a rich life of faith with God beside them, to forget the suffering they have gone through, and also to work to serve others when they go. We are all children of God, and in Christ, we are one.”

We are thankful that Church Without Walls allowed Edrei to share about how their generous support to Fellowship Southwest provides for Edrei’s work in Reynosa, which provides meals, clothing, job opportunities, housing, and pastors the Haitian migrant community in Mexico.
