Call on Texas Senators to vote NO on dangerous anti-immigrant bills
Calling all Texans! The Senate is getting to pass two terrible immigration bills that would encourage racial profiling and create a lot of fear and chaos.
HB4 - authorizes Texas peace officers to detain, transport and "remove" individuals suspected of entering the state unlawfully by driving them to a US port of entry and ordering them back.
----Tell your senator this would be among the most radically anti-immigrant bills ever passed by a legislature, and it would tear apart Texas families and communities.
HB6 - allocates 1.5 billion more dollars for border barrier construction, bringing Texas's spending on border militarization to $11.5 billion.
-----Tell your senator this would be wasteful spending on border fencing that only hurts people without making anyone safer.
