Bio.

Elket Rodríguez is a multifaceted advocate and field personnel serving at the intersection of faith, law, and global migration. Based in Harlingen, Texas, Rodríguez brings a unique blend of legal expertise and compassionate ministry to his work along the U.S.-Mexico border region.

Professional Journey

A native of Puerto Rico, Rodríguez's path led him to the heart of immigration advocacy. He began his career as an immigration attorney, using his legal skills to serve the immigrant community both in and out of the courtroom. In 2020, Rodríguez took on the role of Immigrant and Refugee Specialist for the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship (CBF) and Fellowship Southwest, marking a significant shift in his career towards faith-based advocacy.

Current Role and Responsibilities

In May 2024, Rodríguez was appointed as the Global Migration Advocate for CBF Global Missions, a position that amplifies his impact on immigration policy and migrant support. In this capacity for CBF and for FSW, he:

  • Provides strategic guidance on advocacy efforts for immigrants, internationals, and refugees

  • Represents CBF Global Missions and Fellowship Southwest in national immigration advocacy forums

  • Collaborates with various stakeholders to develop missional strategies

  • Supports educational programs and training opportunities for CBF churches and FSW partners
